Birds Portchmouth Russum collaborating with Farrells on new masterplan for Folkestone seafront

This week both BD and AJ carried news items on the scheme, which is being led by Farrells.  Birds Portchmouth Russum have been collaborating with Farrells in the development of the masterplan and with the design of the individual house types, along with FAT and Panter Hudspith, to maximise the variety and invention presented in the masterplan. Work progressing well on Downley House

The scaffolding has been struck, revealing the form of the house beneath. When complete, the Northwest corner will be embedded in the hillside and the garage will be buried.  With climbing plants and sedum roofs the house will appear well integrated into the landscape.

Birds Portchmouth Russum Win Architecture Prize at RA Summer Exhibition 2011

The  Bovis Lend Lease & Architects’ Journal Prize for Architecture at this year's Royal Academy Summer Exhibition has been awarded to Birds Portchmouth Russum for two housing projects, Highlands Housing, Jersey and Wood Lane, Private House in London. The Highlands scheme is a collaboration with Richard Le Sueur, a leading architect based in Jersey who recently completed the celebrated El Tico beach restaurant.
