A13
Highway Design
London
The design increases the capacity of the A13 highway through Newham with a new river Lea bridge crossing, two new flyovers and an underpass. The impact of the road is ameliorated by sculptural acoustic barriers along its length. The design reconnects the severered halves of the community with a series of landmark footbridges and road junctions articulated by sculptural fragments from the area’s proud industrial and dockland history.
