Road Bridge
Basildon
The bridge is concieved as an extended
landscape sculpture straddling the A127. Footpaths and
cycleways are cantilevered from the main structural beam.
Copper cladding panels envelop the structure and rise
to form an arch at the centre point creating a an entrance
portal to Gardiner’s Lane Development Zone. At night
the lighted bridge becomes a beacon along the A127.
