2nd Place

Savill Garden Visitor Centre, Windsor Great Park

The visitor centre is set within the arboretum at Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park. Exhibition, conference, café / restaurant facilities and a plant centre are located along a meandering woodland pathway leading down to Obelisk Pond. The buildings are articulated as vertical timber structures arranged in organic clusters to enjoy the tranquil views across the lake. A Camera Obscura gives views to Windsor Castle.
