Architecture Showcase at Hackney House, 28th - 29th July, an exhibition featuring architectural models of schemes transforming Hackney, and a chance to speak to the people behind them. The successful event celebrated conceptual projects and built architecture as well as architectural practices based in Hackney. Birds Portchmouth Russum featured four models, Southwark Park Primary School, Rochester Reed Bridges, Savill Gardens Visitor Centre and Jersey Highlands Housing.
The Bovis Lend Lease & Architects’ Journal Prize for Architecture at this year's Royal Academy Summer Exhibition has been awarded to Birds Portchmouth Russum for two housing projects, Highlands Housing, Jersey and Wood Lane, Private House in London. The Highlands scheme is a collaboration with Richard Le Sueur, a leading architect based in Jersey who recently completed the celebrated El Tico beach restaurant.

Birds Portchmouth Russum and Richard le Sueur architects presented their revised housing scheme to the Jersey Architecture Commission this month.
Birds Portchmouth Russum were invited by their long-standing associate, the Jersey-based architect Richard le Sueur, to collaborate on the design of a housing scheme on a cliff-top overlooking the Atlantic on the coast of Jersey. The design is in sympathy with the harsh but beautiful cliffs of the South Jersey coast, and was inspired by the strata visible in the rocks. The conceptual proposals were presented to the Jersey Architecture Commission, Jersey's design review body.
