Andrew Birds

Design Consultant
BA Arch., Dipl. Arch.

Andrew has an acute eye for developing wondrous designs. He conceives ingenious solutions – from the initial strategic response to a site, the planning of unique and special spaces, through to drawing exquisite construction details.  Since the founding of the practice Andrew has been involved in the design of all Birds Portchmouth Russum projects with particular enthusiasm for infrastructure and residential projects.

Outside of the practice Andrew has previously taught at architectural schools including the Bartlett and Brighton. Currently he is actively involved as the architectural designer in the resident-led group reviving and looking after Embassy Court, the iconic apartment building on the Brighton seafront by Wells Coates.

Andrew’s unique approach and talent is evidenced in Birds Portchmouth Russum’s multiple award-winning projects such as Downley House and Southwark Park Primary School.
